When’s the last time somebody said they can’t be there for you?

Communication in all relationships can sometimes create unnecessary tension when it comes to expressing levels of capacity to be present for one another. Sometimes it hurts to hear those words, especially when your biggest love language, like mine, is presence.

Can’t Be There For You by Nymphaea feat. iamhill is a cathartic upbeat dance track about boundaries, both setting them and accepting them when others set them with you.

We never really know what’s going on when met with the phrase "Can't be there for you"; we wonder what’s on the other side of them, if the person who uttered them is pouring their love and energy into someone else or themselves. At the end of the day, it’s none of our business but to accept the boundary when it’s set and to uphold our own.

Setting boundaries has always been tricky for me, as I’m a recovering people pleaser. This track helped me move through the need to become better acquainted with boundaries and move the energy cathartically through dance, too!!! I hope when you hear this at the club someday it reminds you that it’s ok to set boundaries and even more okay to accept the boundaries others set with you.
